When two people have served over a decade each as dishwashers, servers, and bartenders in the restaurant business it’s a natural step up to own one of your own. Few people might do it better than the owners of Philadelphia’s new German bierhaus, Brauhaus Schimtz. This authentic beer hall is a great place for friends to get together and try some of the world’s leading beers while dining on a great menu of classic German Cuisine.

There are over 100 beers by the bottle served here. Many are German in origin, but others hail from Russia, Turkey, and all over, really. 16 of the 20 rotating brews on tap are German, so you have an excellent chance of making a new, sudsy, German friend.

The menu is full of schnitzel, sausage, pickled herring, and other German favorites. This is a fun-filled and lively restaurant, so come try something new when you’re in town.

Transport information and advice
You do not need a car to get here. Take a cab south from the 8th & Market street metro station.
