The Franklin Mortgage & Investment Co is not actually a company specializing in mortgages and investments. It’s a bar, and a darn cool one at that. Its name is derived from a company that acted as the largest alcohol front during the Prohibition era. Now, this Philadelphia bar brings incredible drinks wrapped up in a classy package.
The bar is elegant and appealing with dark red leather upholstery, dark wood flooring and modern tabletops. The bartenders are al decked out in vests, ties, and suspenders and serve 20 different concoctions broken down into six categories.
Many of the mixers are made in house, including the grenadine, and all the drinks are served with top shelf booze. With names like Brown Derby, Corpse Reviver No. 2, and Diamondback, there is a unique cocktail for everyone.
Transport information and advice
You do not need a car to get here. The bar is located just west of the 15th & Market street metro station.
